Pros

Benefits, potential growth, family meal for am & pm shifts

Cons

Upper management and office staff (marketing, accounting, HR, OD, etc.) are tone deaf. Eat expensive meals every week in front of staff and pay nothing for it. While you will see people get promoted, it is almost always not in the direction they wanted, causing really great people and managers to leave. My fav manager left after they took her out of her field of expertise and lied to her :/ HR only cares about corporate and not the people. The office staff have never worked a service industry job in their lives and it shows

Pros

The food is very good, if you can find time to eat. Was founded on great ideals, but has now lost its values and is just out to make as much money as possible while paying their employees as little as possible.

Cons

Management doesn’t trust their employees, they constantly micromanage and put people down. They’ll say your opinion matters, but it doesn’t, and you will be forever put on the black list for voicing your opinion. Blantent favoritism, especially to Italians If in corporate, assume you are always on call to work - calls, emails, texts will come in on weekends, evenings, vacation

Pros

Standard benefit package you pay for.

Cons

In every level of management nepotism and manipulation was the name of the game. Staff was constantly misled about workers rights, tax information, wage information and shift information by HR and management. Many staff complained about racism in the work place. Staff were mistreated based on their race by kitchen managers. Paychecks were continually incorrect for certain staff as if intentionally. If your not awake you'll get burned! The overall environment was negative, toxic, and very unforgiving. The pandemic provided Eataly an opportunity to downsize (let's be honest, get rid of) the staff they no longer "needed." "Layoffs weren't' permanent and were temporary," was stipulated to most staff. Upper management and HR gave staff a false sense of hope about their futures with Eataly. Some honesty and transparency would have been the ethical thing to do. Working at Eataly was like joining a race to the bottom.
