Octopus Energy Backend Developer interview questions

Recruiter call, technical interview, take home challenge, final tech interview. All were nice and friendly people, they were fast with the process, they just didn't offer me as much money as I wanted.

The initial Screening call, is pretty standard. Technical test: Quite possibly, the most poorly designed, instructed, and executed technical challenge I have ever come across in my career as a developer. Task instructions were just a sentence in a word document asking "Using a ruby script only" and asking for a nested hash solution. No other instructions, requirements, rules other than that... Given a random excel document and attached and that's it. Incredibly poor instructions, and long communication windows.
