Pros

Flexible working (n/a to consultants) and mental health support is promoted (only when driven by employees, not senior leadership) Colleagues and atmosphere is the main driver for people to stay. There is a real “family” drive within a client, job role or location team (not necessarily as a whole business though) Training and knowledge growth is vast for those who want it (if you don’t, you will find yourself questioned)

Cons

You are expected (and asked at interview) to work over contracted hours with no remuneration or thanks. This is not “on occasions” like your contract states, and this is weekly/daily. Salary is a poor reflection of your worth and value. The annual review process is a tick box exercise with pre-defined increases regardless of the effort put in that year. If you don’t fall in line with senior leadership unrealistic expectations (through lack of knowledge/understanding), you will quickly find yourself pushed out and isolated. Senior leadership are quick to pull people into HR meetings with no pre-warning. Delivered as “we want to support you” messages but classed as a performance investigation to be made an example of. Pressure from senior leadership placed on to managers to remove people and discipline. Feedback when in role and exit interview information is not taken on board. Females in the business have never been, and will never be, seen as equal in ability. Having to fight twice as hard to get 50% of what males do.

Pros

I have been part of the Proxima family for the last eight years. In that time, I have risen from a green analyst, fresh out of university, to a program manager running engagements for Fortune 10 clients. Proxima has shaped and fueled my professional growth at an accelerated speed, and my time here has developed my professional and soft skills. I have always felt that Proxima offers its employees support in sometimes challenging environments. What makes the company is its people, the professional office culture, and the inclusiveness of the team.

Cons

Continue to increase the diversity of employees Continue to derisk the reliance on large clients by focusing on a greater number of smaller engagements

Pros

The people are what make Proxima so special. This is pretty important since you’ll be spending lots of time with them on the ground working on client projects. Pay well above average, unlimited PTO, beautiful downtown Chicago office.

Cons

Management has seen significant growth very quickly, and has been reactive to those changes. I bet they have put in contingency plans in case they lose a client workstream in the future.
