Pros

Discounted massages Discounted facials Discounted skincare products

Cons

- At the Bedford hills location there are no workplace accommodations to protect your disability or to avoid being fired for your disability - no flexibility, management will get frustrated with you for needing time off for illness or doctors appointments -only two people scheduled front desk at a time so if one person calls out it’s made to be a huge problem since managers will needs to come in - if you have chronic illness especially invisible illness management will express doubt and pressure you to come in when you are sick since “we are a team” - even with a manager present they won’t let you leave to go to urgent care even when you say it’s an emergency - managers come in sick getting other associates sick, encourages associates to come into the workplace regardless of how we are feeling especially if an associate will be away - 15-16 dollars an hour pay bi weekly, no room for growth -key holders who worked there for years explained that they haven’t received any raises - negative work environment

We at Massage Envy Franchising are disappointed to hear that you did not have a positive experience as an employee in a Massage Envy franchised location. In general, we believe franchisees aim to deliver on the Massage Envy brand values--to help you take care of you. We're disappointed to hear that you didn't feel the brand values delivered. Locations are independently owned and operated, so the employment experience that each provides is unique. If you could provide us with some additional details on your experience and your franchised location via email to meemployeebrand@MassageEnvy.com, we'll gladly route this feedback to the franchisee.

Pros

It was really easy to get a job. They hired me on the spot and I got promoted to Store Manager in less than a year of employment.

Cons

The training to work the front desk and become a manager was a complete joke. It was frustrating at first but eventually I figured it out on my own. I became the go-to manager when other managers had questions. Their front desk associates would even call me. It got to the point where I had to set boundaries, because I wasn't getting paid enough to train the employees from other stores. The owners drove me crazy because they had absolutely no idea how to run a business and they wanted me to teach them. I also constantly had to explain to them why I couldn't do what they wanted me to do, because it was unethical or in some cases illegal. They would say okay to my face but then do it anyway behind my back. I was appalled at the way they treated their customers. I eventually resigned because I wasn't comfortable with the way they were running their business.

On behalf of Massage Envy Franchising, we are disappointed to hear that your experience as an employee in a Massage Envy franchised location didn't leave you with a positive impression. As a whole, we believe franchisees aim to deliver on the Massage Envy brand values--to help you take care of you. In collaboration with the American Massage Therapy Association, franchisees have a variety of resources to help promote and maintain a culture of care in their franchised locations. Locations are independently owned and operated, so the employment experience varies from one franchised location to another. We're disappointed to hear that you didn't feel the brand promise delivered and we'd like to reach out to your franchisee directly. If you could provide us with some additional details on your experience and your franchised location via email to meemployeebrand@MassageEnvy.com, we'll gladly route this feedback to the franchisee.

Pros

Coworkers? Not super labor-intensive. that is 5 words glassdoor

Cons

so unethical and greedy. If you really cared about people’s “wellness”, you would not be hounding on your entire team (massage therapists, estheticians, FDA’s) to get their sales up, push people into memberships, push enhancements (that are not at all worth what you charge), and push products & tell people to lie to clients saying it’s your favorite even tho you’ve never tried it. It’s horribly sad to see the thousands people spend at ME and when they go thru financial hardships, we pretty much have to tell them welp, you’re SOL. This job has crossed my moral and ethical boundaries too many times to count. You’re an evil corporation.
