Pros

The pay is good (trying to type enough words to get to the 20 word minimum because I don't have 20 good words to say about this place).

Cons

No support of women, very close-minded and old school mentality. Feels like I went back 10 years in my career. Little flexibility. A Chinese company with Chinese work all the time culture. Only considered to be working if you are chained to your desk, come in early and stay late. No room for growth and they do not do anything to professionally develop their people. No accountability for upper management.

First, thanks for your comment! Secondly, we are sorry you have a low opinion of Lenovo. You must be in a global role. Global roles at Lenovo do have off hour calls. Work life balance is important at Lenovo, but I'd suggest that you bring this up as a priority for you. We never want anyone to feel overwhelmed. If you are uncomfortable with this, I'd suggest reaching out to your HR partner. Another tip, all Lenovo jobs are posted internally and we have seen folks in marketing move up by applying to these internal jobs. You may want to try that too. Lenovo doesn't have a culture of hand holding, so you may need to take the lead on your concerns. Great feedback and thank you.

Pros

If you need a job and you can't get in anywhere else then take it and hope for the best.

Cons

Weird company and culture. Chinese culture all the way, centralized Chinese infrastructure, the individual doesn't matter. Constant upheaval and reductions in staff, reorganizations, absolutely no stability. This company can't figure out what to do and it makes changes every quarter or two. Some people have been there a decade as they got absorbed from the IBM acquisition. Lenovo has been greatly affected by their bad billion dollar purchases of Motorola and IBM Server business and are panicking. China economy crashing only makes their outlook worse. They just cut a bunch of staff, with much more to come again soon. Working for this company has been awful and it was a bad career move for me. Don't believe the hype out there

Thank you for your response. It is true that Lenovo made 2 major strategic acquisitions in Motorola and X86. We also had reductions in force in 2015 associated to sizing the organization correctly for the long term. This is not the norm. You joined during this transition period. Lenovo has had a lot of success, particularly in acquiring the PC business from IBM. Our intention is to be just as successful with the current acquisitions. It is sad that you feel this way, but understandable considering how recently you joined. Lenovo is not looking for short term fixes, we are looking for long term strategic success. Transforming a company from PC to PC+ doesn't occur overnight or without challenges. We certainly do have a plan and we intend to succeed and would love to have your support.

Pros

Pay is competitive and work is global.

Cons

Cost Cutting and lack of innovation. Under staffed and over worked due to constant workforce reduction. Lots of meetings and "talking" but very slow to action

Thank you for your time while you were with us. We wish you the very best. It is true that Lenovo had to reduce costs recently. We are integrating 2 major acquisitions that need to grow to be more successful. Typically, Lenovo is known as one of the fastest moving and innovative PC companies in the world. However, we still have room for improvement as we move into Mobile devices, etc.
