Pros
In Singapore, Micron Technology was once a highly regarded semiconductor company to work for. However, when a new CEO took over on May 8, 2017, things changed. Despite predictions of a slowdown in the department by 2023, there was a significant increase in recruitment last year. Unfortunately, the company eventually faced its worst retrenchment scenario. The Managers unfairly selected people to be retrenched without considering their performance and contributions to the company. It appears that Indians were given preferential treatment during the retrenchment process, possibly due to the CEO's birth country. Surprisingly, those with poor performance in past year and got ratings of 4 in the the current were retained while others were left to worry about their future. Many questions remain unanswered, including why there is a race-based weighting in the retrenchment process and why certain positions in F10N departments are retained despite doing nothing. Additionally, the need for Shift Leads who are not assigned to any job scopes other than meetings remains unclear. The management's actions have left many employees with unanswered questions and an uncertain future.
Cons
There are some employees who are questioning why individuals without apparent job responsibilities in the F10N departments of Micron Technology were retained instead of those with high technical expertise during the retrenchment process, as management did not make that choice.
