Paying the lowest wages of any spa of ever worked at allowed them to market and fill up the schedule.

Cons

Being asked to not take legally mandated breaks up to 5 consecutive hours of deep tissue with five minutes to get my client out flip the room and take the new client. Despite high performance raises were infrequent and basically meaningless and constantly being threatened by management not to ask for more and being called entitled by the owner.

Ability to choose hours of work.

Cons

Each franchise is individually owned, so there is a range for experience due to this. To my understanding some franchise owners offer matching 401K as well as paid time off. The franchise I work at does NOT offer matching 401K or paid time off. There is a health insurance option, but the deductible is $5K.

Pros

Half price massages for employees, if you're over the clinic average requested therapist rate you get a free massage added to your account. Has health care benefits ($200/month for full time employees). Almost always fully booked, especially female therapists.

Cons

Lots of sessions which can be wearing on the body. No time between sessions. No room for advancement apart from lead therapist position, and no raises. Tips are half your income, which can be bad when you have crappy tippers.
