Pros

Peaceful work environment, easy side work, and a degree of autonomy that was appropriate for the amount of pay provided.

Cons

It was unclear to me when I applied that my front desk associate position was evaluated entirely on membership and retail sales; the expectation that 1/3 people would buy a membership for $65 a month is ludacris, and punishing team members for not meeting that quota in a low income area is not very ethical in my eyes.

Pros

Great people. Easy to get a time off if needed. Good clients. Free training. Product discount for employees. You get paid for performing services on co-workers. Good tips.

Cons

Pay. Sales commission is a joke for estheticians. Enhancements sales percentages are even a bigger joke. Priority to schedule estheticians who worked there longer first which creates a lot of conflicts and unnecessary competition. Limited amount of skin care services and strict protocols that was created for relaxation of the client not to address certain skin concerns so it's very hard to achieve any substantial result. Back to back appointments with almost no time to prepare the room for the next client which raises sanitation concerns for skin care services. It's ok to start there as a beginner but for more experienced esthetician I would not recommend this place.

Pros

Shifts go by pretty quickly Free massage and facial for new hires 40% employee discounts on products

Cons

You're expected to be a sales person, a janitor, and a receptionist. Expect to be cleaning all throughout the day (which they won't mention in the interview), and about an hour of cleaning bathrooms, break room, and laundry room, and massage rooms at the end of the night if you work closing shift. Pretty much all of the cleaning gets put on the new person. The commission on selling memberships is a joke- $7 on an $840 membership....that comes out to .008 percent!! Every single little thing you say and do will be nitpicked. They will tell you you're being hired for a "full-time" position, but only give you 30 hours. They will only increase your hours if you're consistently meeting your sales goals. Management is unprofessional and will talk badly to the employees about other employees. Be prepared to be overworked, underappreciated, and paid minimum wage. Scheduling is horrible! Don't expect to ever have more than one day off in a row, and if you do, you might be spending that day attending mandatory training meetings. You'll only be praised if you're meeting your sales goals, it doesn't matter if you're a hard worker in all other aspects of the job.
