Pros

I rack my brain trying to think of one.

Cons

Old boys network, horrible management that was spiteful. Directors and executives had grudges, no room for growth. Thought they could run their server and storage business like a PC business.

Pros

I had good 5 years of employment with this company during which I learned a lot of new tools and technologies. I started as a consultant there, but been proposed to convert to a full time because of my significant contributions to the project. I met there some extremely talented people, who now mostly moved to CA, WA or TX to work for Google, Facebook, Apple or Amazon. It was great to use some new Google technologies before they were advertised for other Google clients (Motorola was a Google company at that time).

Cons

Very shaky and unstable situation with the company revenues. Constant layoffs. Managers are a protected class while employees have to suffer for bad management decisions. Not AGILE environment (by the time when I left at least). Life/Work balance is not great, a lot of overtimes and very little or no recognition for achievements. Upper management changes sometimes meant 180 degrees turns in product development decisions.

Pros

Great people to work with Engineering talent is some of the best in industry Awesome work environment!

Cons

Motorola has missed the boat one too many times on predicting the next trend and has placed bets on the wrong trends leading to poor sales. The company has lacked talented leaders at the top to make the company successful and still does. If you need to fly to China, you are flying coach The company has historically posted fake job openings in order to sponsor H-1B visas, drive wages down and RIF citizens. Motorola is now owned by Lenovo. A lot of engineering jobs have went to China
