No work life balance

Pros

Decent compensation. Bonus is good compraring to other companies in the area. Young people have opportunities to try challenging projects

Cons

No work life balance. Conference calls almost every evening on weekdays. Too many layers of management, some senior managers don't even have any direct report Ambiguous company culture, if there is any culture after all. There are way to many executives. Several hundreds of them. People who do real works - engineers for example got laid off all the time.

Thank you for your feedback and your time while with us. Work life balance is always a challenge if you are global. You'd need to work with your manager to assure there are not excessive off hours calls (due to time zones).

Pros

Generous vacation, health benefits, profit sharing, on site medical office, small but decent gym.

Cons

Zero effort taken to encourage employees to stay or be more productive. Afraid to spend money on anything. No future for US EBG employees with most job roles and functions moving to China. Poor direction and communication from executives and management. Nepotism is incredibly high with higher skilled employees losing jobs to executive favorites.

Firstly, thank you for your time while with Lenovo. Lenovo is undergoing a transition with the X86 Server business that was acquired from IBM. We do not expect immediate results, but we do expect good long term results. I would not say there is no future for EBG employees...in fact, Lenovo has made a large commitment to this team. We just need to make more revenue at a lower cost. Best wishes to you.

Another great suggestion. Hire great people and trust them. This is what we intend to do. Lenovo wants to focus on hiring top talent and winning vs our competition. Global roles with remote management are always more challenging due to time zones and communications via email. Please feel free to work with management on your concerns. Good managers will listen and make adjustments. Contrary to your cons, Lenovo is quite concerned for you. If you don't feel comfortable discussing with your manager, feel free to talk to HR. We not only want you to be successful, we want you to be happy here too. Thanks for your input and all your hard work!
