Pros

Learning environment, training and education of products. Employee discount, benefits and vacation time. Flexible shifts. Free staff meal and uniform. Team work environment

Cons

Very very busy place to work. Cheap tippers. High turnover of entry level staff. Will work weekends and holidays for sure. Lifting and moving heavy items.

Fun culture, but limited opportunities to move up

Pros

If you're interested in food or Italian culture, it's a great environment for learning about the different traditions and cuisines and trying the products. There's a strong educational component for retail and corporate employers, and the office setting is pleasantly informal.

Cons

For whatever reason, long tenured employees are not valued for their experience and the compensation does not begin to match the effort and value the strongest employees bring to their roles. This seems to happen at every level, from entry level to management, so there's not much incentive to grow within a role unless you're gunning for a promotion when a spot opens somewhere.
