I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Apple in Sep 2022
Interview
If the hiring manager or senior hiring manager is Indian, forget about getting the job unless you're Indian. Apple has a huge problem. Diversity isn't diversity of only some people of "color" have real opportunities. The other issue with Apple is that most people don't know how to conduct interviews. They spent too much time on "gotcha" questions instead of asking questions to get a genuine answer. You spend months going through the entire process only to be disrespected by the interviewers when they already know they won't give you an honest opportunity. So many games unfortunately.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Cupertino, CA) in Feb 2022
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter. The process took around 5 weeks.
Initial phone screen (30 minutes): I received a call from recruiter, talked through the position and qualifications to determine if it was a good fit.
*Took about two weeks in between to hear back from the recruiter, I followed up multiple times in-between.
Proceeded to a phone interview with hiring manager (30 minutes): discussed experience, the role in more detail, including tactical day-to-day responsibilities.
Proceeded to second phone interview with Senior Director (30 minutes): Interviewer arrived 35 minutes late and did not apologize, asked a couple of narrow questions and then we wrapped up. It felt like the outcome was predetermined before the call even happened.
Communication between rounds with the recruiter was disconnected, and getting blown off by an interviewer with no explanation or apology made this process feel unorganized and unprofessional.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Apple (Minneapolis, MN) in Aug 2021
Interview
The process was initiated by a recruiter. It initially involved a screening, discussing some of the key points of the role and exploring my interests and experiences. The next round was an interview with the hiring manager. The final round was stated to be a panel interview with piers of the hiring manager. The second round did not include any questions. Primarily the hiring manager told me about the role. It felt as though they had already identified their ideal candidate and were following up on already scheduled interviews.
