I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Cupertino, CA) in Apr 2018
Interview
Apple recruiter will reach out to you based on open job positions and your qualifications.
They will perform an initial phone screen and then schedule a phone interview with 1 or 2 of the hiring managers.
If the hiring managers are interested the Apple recruiter with follow-up with dates you would be available and when they are available. The recruiter has an idea what you will be asked and to prepare ahead of time and study those topics.
They will then schedule a flight, hotel (2-night max), and rental car for your arrival and interview and provide you with an itinerary for the day of the interview. They also provide $125 per-diem per day for your expenses. They are very organized and professional. It was an enjoyable experience.
The best perk was business class for all overseas travel. Unfortunately, I had to decline the offer because when I looked at the cost of living in California, the income tax rate, and real estate prices, I couldn't justify it. The package was good, but not great.
