Failing giant

Pros

Intelligent, engaging people who want to do their best for the customer and their teams. Great facilities at Newbury.

Cons

Archaic, unusable systems limit most peoples capabilities. Almost comical level of bureaucracy and process. Impossible to get anything done. The company has stood still for a decade and it's no surprise market share has declined. Working from home structure is not as promised once you start role.

Almost an MVNO

Pros

Vodafone has a great diverse work culture. Although they are a British firm, I worked with people from all over Europe (Germany, France, UK, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Greece) and Asia (most countries) just within my division. They have great processes for a lot of functions and are professionally run.

Cons

Unfortunately, the planners of the US MVNO were not committed to buying market share (losing money) to establish their brand as an Enterprise-grade wireless provider. They could not compete with the Big 3 and ultimately had to shut down the Mobility division.

Pros

Unfortunately there were no pros during my time working for this company.

Cons

Retail Stores are severely understaffed. New system called seibel-none of the staff know how to use properly. Bonus is all based on Net Promoter Score. Their are three questions asked, however Vodafone only care about the first one- would you recommend Vodafone to a friend or family unless customer gives 9/10 staff members are penalised. Staff can potentially loose their job based on this system. Unfortunately what Vodafone do not realise is that people will rank Vodafone based on their whole experience not the last one. The majority of departments that can actually resolve a customer issue are only available to be contacted via an email.
