Pros

Close to M50 with local parking. Somewhat flexible work hours. Health insurance.

Cons

A Telecoms company run like a bank. Engineers are second rate citizens and not cared for. No pay increases for years - with no view of one in sight. HR salary review is a joke. Unfair and rigid Bell curve performance dialogue system. No career opportunity for engineers - apart from move into management.

Pros

Lovely office, The offices are modern and in a beautiful setting. Good facilities Finish early on Fridays at 4pm

Cons

Management dont care, Too too much politics, Say they offer to develop your career, no chance, Managers dont care and unless you kiss their backsides no chance HR are awful at getting back to you for internal vacancies. Stakeholders dont share ideas, do changes 1st and then realise what a silly mistake Very stressful place to work at times, Alot of people are thinking about leaving.

Pros

Great office buildings with lots of facilities. Free office phone with unlimited calling and data. Big brand in UK & worldwide so stands out in CV. Good pay, equivalent to what companies pay in London

Cons

The office is in Newbury which has very poor train connectivity. Trains are frequently late. Although the pay is good the amount of workload is also very heavy. They make sure they get more than the money's worth. Most employees are from around Newbury area and have been there for years. No real talent. When some senior managers are shown the door due to poor performance he/she then applies for a different role in different department within voda. So the incompetence is recycled from one department to other. These are the same people who are part of the 'Newbury Group' and get hired despite their incompetence. Voda struggles attracting talent from London areas due to hq based far away. Although it’s a telecommunications company the communication between different departments is very poor. Showing how busy you are and talking about it is like a fashion. Everybody keeps talking about how busy they are & keep talking about it for an hour(shows how busy they really are). Lot of internal politics, red tape. I guess that is one big reason Voda is finding it difficult to keep up with the competition. Flexibility in working hours depends on your line manager.
