      large company woes at Group

      Pros

      large company spread around the world, so scope for internal transfers to wide locations. Operating Companies provide a more real environment then Group deep pockets from sale of Verizon emphasis on internal training for permanents

      Cons

      amazing level of bureaucracy and (NPD) processes that in a word - broken long lead times to take an idea to market - very waterfall and nothing agile. Poor excuse for this is that "telecoms systems are complex to build and hence we have to do waterfall".

      Pros

      There is a lot going on and there are great opportunities to grow and learn. There are not many people in the business so you get a chance to really stretch your skills and get involved in the details of day to day operations.

      Cons

      There is a lot of change and uncertainty in the company which can lead to high levels of stress. This is in part due to the nature of telecom and in part because of being in an emerging marketplace.
