Pros

On time salary, bonus is relative to the industry performance but much better for top managers (DGM and above). overtime for executives, Monthly team lunch and periodical awards, fast decisions

Cons

Growth restricted to a social group & people well connected to top management (old pals) fast decisions even without consulting concerned managers, always ready to fire people and cause trouble if talented people willingly leaving, East India company management style - talk about unity and transparency but divide and rule, Innovation or going extra mile is subjectively accepted by the social group managers despite one did it over and above accomplished KRAs.

Pros

Large telecommunications company with nice HQ and good benefits scheme.

Cons

Two sides to this organisation Vodafone group and Vodafone UK with a mix of ex Cable and Wireless/ Energis staff still working to the old style. The CWW part of the business is still evident and only operates with the Vodafone badge. Ex CWW staff have not fully embraced the new Vodafone way of working and still operate as CWW, staff morale on this side of the business is low and the SMALE house building is the worst working environment I have ever come across. Target driven with little time for personal development which creates an reactive work environment and staff morale can be low .As with large organisations a complex set of processes makes you feel lost with no personal engagement, I was told to upload a set of personal objectives in my first month with no discussion just to complete a target. The Newbury HQ is a university style campus environment very modern high tech and seemingly dynamic a lot of razmatazz when going through the 3 day induction on the vodafone way of working and visiting one of there call centres were you get the retail experince. However once you start your role you are on your own and either sink or swim. Big disconnect between Vodafone Group with a slightly different vision and better bonus scheme than Vodafone UK. Career progression is non exsitent if you are an outsider (non CWW or Energis) and working hours long.
