Pros

Higher rate of pay for under-25s (£7.20 at age 18), easy work, nice staff

Cons

High turnover, very disorganised management, RUDE customers, sometimes unsociable hours. Management messing up payroll is/was a regular occurrence and I heard a few stories of them owing former employees, especially young ones, money

Thank you for the review, I'm glad you've shared your thoughts with us so we can improve things. It's great you've enjoyed the work and have a nice team around you. It's a shame to hear you've experience issues with pay, I'd like to discuss with you further so we can get these issues rectified, if they haven't been already. If you're happy to speak with me, please email peoplehub@virginactive.co.uk FAO Jeanette so we can pick up further. All the best, Jeanette

Pros

Working at Virgin Active really gives you a sense of belonging. I've worked at VA for just over 6 months now and it genuinely has been the happiest 6 months of employment I've ever experienced. From the moment I joined I made it very clear I'm young, ambitious with an exuberant and outgoing personality. I know what I want - to be successful - and Virgin are training me to be so. Within the 6 months I've been given more and more responsibility which has allowed me to develop professionally. The pay is competitive and the benefits are superb. My co workers young, vibrant and active which just creates a true sense of being on a journey together. Virgin Active is a company where you get back what you put into it. If you come to work excited, willing to engage with your peers and a get-on-with-it attitude then everyone has the chance to blossom. They also run a future leaders programme which means if you're spotted then you'll be rewarded with further training.

Cons

If you're not willing to work hard, jump into the role or engage positively then you'll end up leaving pretty quickly. This isn't a job for none go getters.
