Pros

-You can be super lazy, not work at all and get paid at industry standard (that is what majority of people do here)

Cons

-Incompetent people with titles as 'research scientist' and 'research engineers' -You would instantly lose attraction to companies like Google/Facebook/Apple/Amazon if you go here. Common perception is that they hire lazy low-tier engineers/scientist -Many of the 'researchers/research scientists' do not even have a PhD. They are students/friends of the people in management who hire them without rigorous interviews - You won't learn anything since there is no innovation going on here. This will be problematic if you try to get a job at a real company and they ask you about your past experience.
