Pros

Consistent work stream, engagement days can be fun, job security and never any arguments when extra materials or tools are required.

Cons

Not enough transparency about what's happening as a company, not enough options or guidance for career progression. Unless you shout, scream and holler about yourself, or actively push customers to write reviews about you, there is next to no recognition and promises that are made never seemed to be followed up or fulfilled. A major sense of unfairness between colleagues that have the same levels of experience. (Some getting lighter work loads than others).

Pros

Still feels like the company WANT to look after you.

Cons

Management is piling on the work and the famed Octopus work/life balance is definitely tipping in the wrong direction. Promotion within the heatpump division is elusive.

Thanks for sharing this and for being part of the green revolution over the last couple of years. It’s encouraging to hear that you still feel we want to look after people. That matters a lot to us. But it’s tough to read that the workload and work/life balance feel like they’re heading in the wrong direction. That’s not what we’re aiming for, and it’s something we take seriously. As we’ve grown, demand has increased quickly, but we never want our teams to feel negatively pressured. We’re working on better planning, resourcing and installation improvements to help with this. To give clearer progression routes within the field teams, we have recently introduced a development matrix to help make opportunities feel within reach and clear. And your advice to “take a breath” is heard, it’s a good reminder that growth shouldn’t come at the expense of our people. Thanks again for the honest feedback. If you ever want to talk things through directly, we’re always open. regards, Max Carter
