Pros

Pros: Friendly team members; colleagues were generally supportive. Some flexibility with scheduling.

Cons

Repetitive, boring work, mind-numbing, and it brings you closer to depression than anything else. Travelling to the office multiple times a week. Cons: High-pressure sales targets made the role extremely stressful at times. Management often provided inconsistent guidance, making it difficult to know priorities. Communication from leadership could be slow, leading to confusion or last-minute changes. Limited opportunities for career growth or promotion within the role. Advice to Management: Provide clearer guidance and more consistent support for new hires. Not so fair as they are always banging on about.

Pros

The support I am currently receiving from Octopus during a difficult time in my life is absolutely unmatched and no other company that I have worked for has compared even slightly.

Cons

Not a bad word to say about them.

Pros

Some great engineers to work alongside, who you can share your misery with.

Cons

If you’re thinking of joining Octopus on the heat pump side – don’t. Nobody is happy, everyone is planning on leaving, and senior management couldn’t care less. Expect 50–60 hour weeks, long drives disguised as “35 minutes” on Kraken, unrealistic 4-day installs, and zero work-life balance. Safety is ignored, surveys are done by unqualified people, processes change daily, and there’s no HR if your manager pushes you into unsafe work. It’s a “just smash it out” culture where everything is the “leads” fault and nothing is ever good enough. I’ll be leaving as soon as I can. Easily the worst job I’ve ever had.

We're really sorry to hear about your experience, and we take concerns like this seriously. We understand how frustrating it must feel to face long hours, unclear processes, and safety concerns. That’s not the kind of environment we want for anyone at Octopus. Our goal is to build a culture where people feel safe, supported, and heard, and if we’re falling short of that, we need to know so we can improve. If you're open to it, we'd really appreciate the opportunity to discuss this in more detail. It’s important to us to learn from experiences like yours, and to make meaningful changes where they’re needed. Please feel free to reach out directly to nour.rasamny@octopus.energy. Thank you again for your honesty, it helps us do better and we really do care!
