Pros

Discounted massages and products, closed on holidays

Cons

You do double the work for half of the pay. I would book appointments, wash windows, mop, vacuum, sweep, restock bathrooms, do laundry, restock clipboards, sell memberships all while having to have a giant smile on your face or the manager would tell you that it's uncomfortable to have someone that looks unhappy/tired. Management really doesn't care about your hours-or lack of- and will purposely move your schedule around so you don't work with people you like. Clients are extremely rude.

Working here makes you hate the place.

Pros

The only good thing about working here is getting massages for free or at a discounted rate.

Cons

The franchisee is never in and knows nothing about her own clinic yet expects the sales to be at the top. The owner makes the front desk associates scrub the floors on their hands and knees and tells them if they don't file for worker's comp, they'll get a bonus. They expect you to live off of minimum wage in California but show up with brand new, fully loaded cars. They talk on the phone about purchasing more things yet can't provide for their own clinic (inventory, paint job, etc). The massage envy vision is to provide healthy lives for people but all the owners really care about is people buying the memberships and if they don't finish their 12 month term, they get sent to collections.

Pros

The location I worked at, gave us really good commission (20% off of retail). The clients were generally amazing. I loved that this location was constantly busy. I loved all the therapist and staff, and the GM was very intelligent, cunning, and knew the business of sales.

Cons

Management style. It was extremely, EXTREMELY hostile. I was so stressed out and scared to come into work almost every day. Just making minor mistakes got you yelled at (things that actually did not cost the company money nor reputation). I have never been yelled at in my LIFE by a manager, much less in front of other people. It was very very degrading, and an awful way to treat people.
