I’m a year in and I am burned-out; hence, I am browsing job openings on Glassdoor :)
When there are problem employees who have a history of dishonesty and/or unprofessionalism, don’t expect them to be fired. This is a detriment to morale & any kind of team unity that has been fostered. It also makes me feel like my integrity isn’t actually valued.
The in-network gynecologists in my area are all men or have terrible reviews online. They also don’t have anything for maternity leave. Most of the women who Have been had a baby while working for LTF have had to set money aside & are only gone for 8 weeks unpaid.
Expect to work 9 hour shifts with late evenings & weekends every single week. It’s the nature of the business; perfect for someone single & ready to make Life Time their whole world. I knew this getting into it and it’s wearing me down nearly a year later.
Vacation days do not exist at LTF. You will have 2 days off each week- Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter will be considered one of those 2 days. Regardless of hitting goals, you will still only have 2 days off per week, which really adds to my feeling burned-out. I would take less money for more time out of the club, but this isn’t an option.
PTO is very slowly accrued and it’s a joke that it resets right before t-day & Christmas when it’s extremely slow.
Random & rigid work schedules make it impossible to develop routines or make simple plans without a month’s notice.
This is an mindless job. I haven’t learned anything new since the second month on the job. My brain feels like it’s rotting :(
