Pros
I started as a part time sales associate. I originally took the job to supplement my income since the job I had was cutting my hours. This was during Covid when a lot of companies had massive layoffs and cutbacks. My LensCrafters manager was flexible with my hours so I could work both jobs comfortably. LensCrafters offers part timers health insurance, so I ended up quitting the other job after a few months.
Cons
The customers are pretty abusive. More so than non-optical retail. They yell at you, call you names, curse at you, accuse you of ripping them off, make comments about how bad you are at your job, accuse you of stealing their identity…it can get pretty personal. The managers either quit themselves because it takes a toll on them, or they become so desensitized to it they don’t understand why it upsets you. I thought it might have been just my store, but I talked to employees at other stores and they say it’s like that at their stores too.
