Pros

I worked at a Lenscrafters Optique, where I was Sales Rep but more realistically did everything and anything. It gave me good experience while in college, and upon finishing college I left to go on to different things. Very flexible with my work/life balance with school, although this could vary by location. Good discounts even for myself having 20/20 vision.

Cons

Underpays its employees for how hard they work. The compensation for commissions is under what it should be. Being that this job is not only retail but also health, the company needs to recognize how hard their employees work with customer's and their treatment of workers if they want to keep them. I actually worked at an optique which is a smaller store, so my responsibilities were through the roof. A typically Lenscrafters may be less stressful and you may feel ok with your compensation, but everyone at my store felt that opposite. Being that it was a tough economy, we didn't have much choice.

Pros

Incentives based on sales and quality. "Earn as you Learn" - obtain merit increases as you become certified in different areas.

Cons

Worked 30+ hours per week and received "Exceeds Expecatations" rating only to have them hire a new hire in at Full-Time when I was seeking an increase in hours. Management would go behind employees back and talk about other employees etc. Upper management seemed more inclined to dicipline store management rather than train when they would visit the store.
