The pay is really good and the amount of hours you can get are really flexible as well.

It used to be so good to work at Lenscrafters but ever since we've been assigned a new Regional Manager, work has been so stressful. We need to track everything ourselves and this stress as an eyewear consultant is a lot. Especially since i'm a student and I have other commitments to handle before this stress that LensCrafters is adding to its eyewear consultants. The new program that we've received is absolutely not made for use in an optical setting. The whole management was so excited to have a new software to help make our lives easier, but the previous system was way more efficient. It was actually designed for being used in an optical setting much more than this current system called Ciao. I love glasses, I love working with them and having other people enjoy their purchases but this stress that has been put on me, it is not fair because I end up not enjoying my job anymore. I have really started hating my job here.

Pros

Some stores are much better than others. It is an ok way to get through college.

Cons

Some stores look like garbage and haven't been updated in 30 years, yet they are still rolling out new ones. High volume stores are horrendously staffed due to an extremely high turnover rate. The matrix for distributing hours is pretty flawed. Higher up management doesn't actually do anything. They no longer care about employee advancement or benefits. Another ever changing, quarter to quarter, corporate controlled company.
