A company that truly does not value it's associates

Pros

There are absolutely none whatsoever

Cons

For the sake of brevity, we'll focus on the micromanagement. Store managers are not allowed to make any business decisions at all, but they are expected to"own the results" when their stores fail. Upper- management consists mostly of pencil- pushers with no industry experience. Every interaction with upper management involves condescending remarks instead of constructive feedback on how to succeed.

BIG CHANGES

Pros

Optical is something I've done for 46 years. Lenscrafters in the past has been a great place to practice your trade and advance. Love working with young people learning the trade

Cons

Optical is changing and Lencrafters is changing with it and maybe not for the good.. They currently think 30 hours is full time. lets get real who can live off that. They are also short staffing their stores. Many stores are working with 2/3 the hours they had 5 years ago. No more customer service. Speaking of customer service they are currently in the process of closing their store labs ( Atlanta has closed labs) no more ONE HOUR SERVICE. They will soon be nothing special. Just like all other places selling glasses. This will be a time for independent optical shops to capitalize . Lenscrafters can not have a 7 to 14 day wait for glasses and charge their current. Lots of lab workers will be looking for a job. They will soon be just an over priced chain .

Too Flexible

Pros

This job is flexible and good for going to school, there's a lot of turnover so you can expect to move up if you are ambitious and good at the hardcore sales environment, and helping people see and find glasses they genuinely love is a fun job.

Cons

They constantly restructure the compensation and benefits under the guise of being better and really making it worse. They also restructure the business model every six months and require us to entirely change the way we do business with our customers, which constantly keeps the store managers and our associates in a limbo of exactly what the right way to do things is, and whether or not it will change soon.
