Pros

You get free glasses every year and on you every 5 year mark, you get two pairs.

Cons

This company has no structure or consistency. Everyday there is a different structure to follow. No two stores or regions are run the same way. Everyone has different forms they use and the company wonders why it’s not making money. This company does not believe in their people and does not promote from within. They continuously hire externally for general manager positions and use their seasoned managers to support them but they will tell you differently. If you are good enough to support a gm externally hired and get them where they need to be, why not just give you a store of your own? They overwork you for very little pay and incentives. Instead of being properly staffed and having enough people on the team, they have you do the work of 3 people for minimum wage on very minimal hours.

Pros

Friendly opticians and co-workers. Good associate sales (occasionally). Good experience and a good introduction to optical field

Cons

Huge emphasis on selling products a patient may not need; if a patient comes in for contact lenses, they don't want to shell out $500 for glasses, and vice versa; not everyone wants contact lenses if they're currently thrilled with their glasses. Additionally, some patients cannot afford all the bells and whistles or the "best lenses" Lenscrafters can offer, and I should not be penalized or bullied when I don't want to force a patient to purchase something they do not need or cannot afford. I enjoyed this job much more before management shifted to sales and numbers versus patient interaction. Did not care about patient's true "chief complaint" or "reason for visit" and instead would constantly hound me as to why I did not sell a contact lens wearer a new pair of glasses (or vice versa). Not paid enough for what you do - as a part-time associate, I trained new employees on our equipment and system, and I was called often to do adjustments like an optician and I was not compensated more for this.
