Pros

They have many locations. Great place to learn on the job. The brand is well known to customers and other professionals.

Cons

They are no longer interested in the professional optician. They want a "retail sales person". Many of the upper management came over from Limited Brands when they had a restructuring. So, unless you want to be treated like you work for Victoria's Secret and not the professional optician you are, run away. There is no work life balance. They own you. If you are salary, plan on 70-80 hours a week. If you are hourly, they try to keep everyone part time to minimize benefit contribution.

Pros

Good Training. Commission can be good if sales are up. Reimbursement for ABO and continuing education. Lots of locations. Benefits - free exams and glasses every year. Good discount.

Cons

Management is heavily micro managed. Too many chiefs. Excessive amount of conference calls. You will be written up if you do not make sales plan. Employees are expected to drive to the bank every day with cash deposits, not safe. LP Audit is the preferred way to terminate a manager.

Pros

Good salary and benefits for managers only. The products that they carry are great and your employee discount really helps lower the steep costs. You get one free prescription pair of glasses each year.

Cons

This company constantly rotates their upper management from the VP down. These people then in turn let good quality people go and replace them with their own people. Regional Managers know nothing about the business and instead replaces everyone with their own people who know nothing about the business as well. Within one years time my region let go of sixteen out of twenty General Managers in only ten months. The few that remain are already being pushed out. Human Resources will not help. If you are looking for longevity in the areas of sales, lab, optician, or management, LensCrafters is definitely not it.
