Pros

Lenovo has no Pros- just cons

Cons

The company puts people on a 30 day Performance Enhancement Program as an excuse to fire them. Most managers have very adversarial outlook and provide no guidance but expect results. Horrible experience as I resigned after my manager told me that he will put me on PEP. Worst experience!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Performance Improvement Plans are in place to help employees correct performance in areas that are not doing well. Our plans are designed to be detailed/specific on goals and targets and measurable so that employees and managers can be held accountable for performance improvement. Ideally after being put on a PIP, employees performance will improve and be back on track for success. We apologize for the experience you had while at Lenovo, however we wish you the best and appreciate you sharing you feedback with us so we can be better.

Pros

I worked at Lenovo for two years and that was two years too long. Most of the people I worked with, were in my opinion, not that professional when compared to other large sales organizations. I don't have anything good to say about the place. If you are a college drop-out or looking to work with a lot of incompetent people, then give the place a shot.

Cons

Unprofessional, pay not that great, Chinese owned

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We apologize that your time with Lenovo was not up to standard. At Lenovo, our hiring process remains incredibly thorough and we are always focused on bringing the best people in to join us and contribute to our mission. Additionally, if you are in a situation with coworkers who lack professionalism and it is negatively impacting you or your role, our HR team would like to learn more. If you are still experiencing this, we highly encourage you to reach out to your direct manager and/or your HR representative so we can work together to combat this issue. Thank you again for providing your feedback.

Pros

Autonomy, room to grow, good compensation, unlimited time off, great maternity/paternity policy, flexible hours and location.

Cons

Constant change in org structure, reactive (rather than proactive) approach to most workflow, noticeable incompetence or lack of character in select leadership, big learning curve for new employees, easy to get lost in large employee group. Generally, I would say that *for the right person* this is a great place to work. If you are a self-starter with a stellar ability to know yourself, your boundaries and your skills, you'll do great. If you are a "yes man," the workload might just eat you alive. If you thrive on energy and are motivated by a good challenge, you'll love the excitement of the matrixed, evolving organization. If you like stability and predictability, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are making strides to improve work-life balance. We have recently implemented changes in our business structure to help support 'One Lenovo' to encourage breaking of silos within our business units. Additionally, we are also meeting our employees with more flexibility and adapting more and more to the expectations of employees and "the new normal". Our new and improved Employee Value Proposition was created by employees in mind and it shows our dedication to deliver all that they need and find the most valuable. With that in mind, our new parental leave policy gives all expecting parents equitable benefits so you and your families are taken care of. If employees are out of the office on parental leave, Lenovo also offers managers the opportunity to create a new project team, or gig, to help provide support to your team while you are away or even give employees the opportunity to work on a special short-term project. We appreciate you sharing your experience with us and do hope that we can continue to partner to make us a stronger One Lenovo. If you have any additional topics you'd like to discuss further, we encourage you to speak with your HR representative.
