Ideal Image, when privately owned was an amazing company to work for. I've worked here for 3 years at multiple locations. Like MANY other strong veteran sales staff I'm very unhappy with the way things are headed. The ONLY staff/team members that are taken care of are those in Tampa. If you are reading the reviews on Ideal Image, there is a common theme, 95% of employees are unhappy and the remainder work at Tampa Headquarters and are well taken care of. Sure at Tampa they have a fitness center, monthly incentives, team building activities, free services for any friends and family, oh and Yacht rides around the Tampa area for the end of the year party. And all drinks and food are included. At ANY other location you are expected to work 50+ hours a week, are asked to stay at center whole time if you are in sales (so no lunch workouts here), no extra incentive for center sales members, your family can get 50% off packages (paying more than some of the guests off the street), and the end of the year party, well you will be asked to spend your OWN $25 and then you can submit that receipt for reimbursement. Additionally, if you are at the Tampa Centers, SoFla Centers, or the LARGEST centers in the US you will be visited and supported by the CEO, national, and regional directors. If you are at one of the other 110 locations, well you are on your own. I use the term supported by CEO, Bruce Fabel, lightly. There are numerous reports that he has acted and spoke inappropriately to the female staff at centers, and WHEN we do receive a corp email from him, he typically likes to include a selfie, boosting about some great thing that he's doing that the other 99% of us are not.
Yes some of the review slyly mention how if you aren't a self starter than its not the company for you, and yes its fast paced and always adding new services - that is actually a great thing. And would be even better if Corp knew how to roll out a new change. Typically its rolled out, then your regional might know something a week or two later. And then the helpdesk might learn how to help at that same time. But Bruce and the rest of the Tampa team are pumped because they don't work in a center and don't ask for feedback from actual staff and therefore aren't a part of any of the unhappy guest feedback, or the center getting upset because its not as effective.
I'll keep the info about the pay short - its not what they tell you its gonna be. The amount of leads that come through are very minimal lately. Our pay has changed in the negative three times since Steiner Leisure and Bruce Fabel took over. Excellent strong consultants are leaving weekly. You will be lucky to make $10k over the base pay. And if you are interviewing, ask to see the Reports that are generated daily. It will show you what each center really brings in and that you won't make the money they are promising.
If you are a RN, NP, or PA - this is a CAKE JOB - and you'll make a ton of money lasering hair. Anyone else look elsewhere.
The services are also a con - in the sense that they don't work for everyone, and there's no way to tell if you are in the small percentage where you just won't get results, whether that's laser, ultherea, or coolscultping. Do yourself the favor and search reviews and results on these services so you can prepare yourself with a strong sales pitch.
And the products that they want you to push but you won't get paid on, a joke. WAY overpriced. Bliss is sold everywhere for 1/8 what we are "selling" it for. Don't worry the products come out of your way...and not at the small 1/8 cost, but at what Corp calls "retail" cost. Sure thing!
Benefits - horrible, they change the insurance yearly, the cost for add'l family - robbery. Although Steiner is a BILLION dollar company they don't contribute/match your 401k. AWFUL of them. And you'll get a bunch of slack when you say you want to take PTO. And PTO does not look like other companies that are making what Steiner is.
If you are looking to start as a GSC for a resume builder and you've met with the regional and he/she seems like they might be 25% supportive than this might be a good place for you to work. If you are medical and you are tired of the hospitals and don't mind long hours, this might be the place to work. But all should think long and hard and read through the BS reviews that Bruce asked tampa employees to write.
