Pros

Free treatments unless you leave 90 days post service and have to pay back at full retail value. Free treatments during training.

Cons

Worst corporation I have ever experienced. Unapproachable and manipulative leadership. Revolving door of Regional Managers. Zero consistency. Sales are the only thing that matters and they will fire you without notice. If you challenge them they will retaliate and find any reason to get rid of you. Medical staff runs unchecked. Horrible attitudes to staff and guests. Constantly making wrong assessments but no one holds accountable. They say they have “medical regionals” and Preceptors to help coach but are all young kids that have never been in leadership roles and cannot handle conflict so they ignore requests for help. Medical staff does not respect New Center Managers because they are not “medical” and have retail backgrounds. HR is filled with Drama and selective in what they support you in. If you have an issue with upper management or a corporate individual consider your issue dead in the water... until corporate needs ammunition to fire someone. Constantly in fear of losing your job. This culture breeds fear, lies and negativity in the Centers. This company needs to be Unionized!

Ideal Image Response

Ideal Image goes to great lengths to retain our associates. We promote from within the organization when possible and will not discriminate based on age. Sales are a necessity for all for profit companies and we have increased sales by providing services that benefit our guests and providing excellent customer service. We only hire experienced center managers and provide them with comprehensive training. Our leadership team has an open-door policy and responds to feedback from all Ideal Image associates.

Don't do it!

Pros

Good if you've never managed before because they tell you everything to do.

Cons

They tell you EVERYTHING to do. Micromanage unlike anything I've ever experienced. Bad management decisions caused me to leave. They have unrealistic expectations, ask the impossible, and make last minute decisions that negatively impact employees. They do not care about their people. They terminate people on a daily basis and turnover is unreal!! They gave all the employees a 'satisfaction survey' months ago in hopes of gaining insight to what's working/what isn't and promised us they'd share results. They never did. Very telling, and the complete opposite of their whole 'transparency' motto. They hire you to be a manager, then ask you to be a salesperson-without the commission. Not what we were hired to do. Things change constantly. They figure out ways to pay you less and less. They only have a cleaning service 1x week, so you end up cleaning your own store, which I find ridiculous. They are extremely pushy in their sales tactics and what they want us to say to customers to try and close a sale is over the top!!

Pros

Free treatments Depending on the center, there is a fun working environment

Cons

Absolutely no work life balance. If you have kids this is not the place for you! If you want to have a decent life outside of work, then this isn't for you! RUN!!!! MANY late nights that they don't tell you about. There are nights where you might have to stay 1-2 past closing time to do a treatment. Laser hair removal is not that serious! Oh and the cleaning of the gauges is very questionable. A gauge will be on someones vagina one minute, and then on someones lip the next. I don't know about that cleaning solution. Go the extra mile and invest in a better sanitizing technique. It's not like Ideal Image doesn't have the money to do so. Blondes are not treatable, but during an assessment, they want you to tell the guest they are treatable so they spend $3000. "Focus on the positive". Then when the guest comes back complaining about no hair loss, they want you to deal with it. Puts the nurses in a bad spot. Many of my guest felt like they were scammed. Makes you feel like a low life for working there. DO NOT GO TO IDEAL IMAGE FOR INJECTABLES!!! Chances are they have no clue what they are doing, or they haven't had an injectables guest in months. Go to a plastic surgeon if you want anything done that has to do with beauty and your face. Ultherapy is a joke! Does not work! To be honest you can go work in the hospital and work way less than you do at Ideal Image, and make just as much money. In the hospital if you need extra money, pick up an extra shift. If you are a new grad nurse, DO NOT go work at Ideal Image right out of school. It will ruin your nursing career. Once you get tired of it and realize you spent a lot of money on nursing school and you're tired of doing the same boring thing, asking the same boring questions, you will then get the rude awakening of no hospitals calling you for an interview. Hospital nursing and being a "nurse" at Ideal Image are two totally different things. The number of years you have been a nurse do not matter, the amount of experience you have as a REAL NURSE matters. When you go to the hospital to work, settings for a laser will not matter. DON'T DO IT!!! If you are a nurse looking for a change, think twice about working for Ideal Image. Once this is on your resume, it hinders more than helps! Trust me! There is only a matter of time before this company sinks. Being all about money and not the safety of the guest is not the way to be.
