Pros

Interesting people, respect, trust, can be very flexible when requested, good benefits, if you don't like what you're working on - just move on to another project. Some learning - but not in ways you might have expected. Helps build a good reputation. I like it. Best company I've ever worked for (and I've worked for MANY).

Cons

Politics. Many long meetings. Meetings about meetings. At times a lot of pressure/stress (but hey, what company doesn't have this).

Pros

IBM is a very flexible place to work: you can often work from home, and the hours that you work can also be very flexible.

Cons

Working from home can leave you feeling isolated and out of touch with your peers; administrative requirements and career management tasks often seem rather pointless.

Pros

work/life balance is superb. you are able to work at home pretty much at your will. this is an element of the IBM experience that clients know they are likely to get.

Cons

pay is very poor. progress is slow, but that is to be expected from a company of this size. the moment they make one exception, they would have another 200,000 exceptions on their hands!
