Pros

A large company with many job opportunites and places to live. If you want to live overseas that is a strong possibility. In some places there are people who have worked in the same building for ever 30yrs so it feels like a family at the workplace.

Cons

This company does not reward employees often and when it does, it does not amount to be much of a big deal. Also there is not really a good system in place for new employees.

Pros

The industry and the company doesn't feel to be as up-and-down due to the good diversification among the portfolio of products (Honeywell as a whole); however, how Honeywell does in the bad economy is yet to be seen. Honeywell is a great company to work for to bolster your resume and gain experience (as you'll be working hard).

Cons

Honeywell is a culture stuck in the "we've always done this and it's the best way" company. I haven't seen much openness to change or improvement of the current ways. Management doesn't seem to value employees as people as much as commodities. Work-life balance outside of emergencies is non-existent. Salaries are low compared to industry (for my role) as compensation is done "on the cheap". Jobs have recently been sent overseas and budgetary spending is not done wisely. VERY metrics based organization. Goals seem to be constantly moving, as even meeting or exceeding goals is often met with "we need more" and very rarely a "good job". Even people hired in the past 2 years have been on a revolving door as people come and leave the organization often.

Pros

Nothing really other than you get a fortune 500 company on your resume.

Cons

The biggest joke is Six Sigma, we are all trained in it but nobody uses it. The second biggest joke is "employees are our best asset", with all of the layoffs who are they trying to kid? The company cares about the bottom line for the next quarter, period. Anything that would reduce the bottom line for the next quarter even if it would increase it for years to come is not approved. Anything that would make the bottom line look good in the short term but destroy the company in the long term is approved. If you can show you save money it is approved, if you do not save money but improve customer service or employee satisfaction it is not approved.
