Pros

I'm really struggling to find any. I would have said my teammates and direct report, but they're mostly gone now.

Cons

Horrible inter-office politics. Worst health insurance in the world. Completely disfunctional development environment with no room to innovate or make decisions affecting your work environment. Microsoft shop (heavy Azure). Clueless leadership who don't understand software development. Values social issues and progressivism over working products. HR and hiring are a nightmare. People are promoted and rewarded for behavior that would be considered fireable elsewhere. Company promotes competition between its own business units in a way that creates a toxic atmosphere instead of healthy competition. Security and Ops stuck in an old school mindset that is counterproductive to actual network security, stifles innovation, and are combative towards development teams. No input or control for developers over tools and software they have to use and support on a daily basis. Bureaucracy everywhere. SAFe agile. Poor work-life balance. Other offices in the company are run-down, sad, and possibly unsafe with mold and asbestos.

Pros

Salary - But that is because you are expected to work 6 days a week, all hours of the day.

Cons

Where to begin.... * Work Life Balance - Expect to sacrifice time with your family. You'll be working 6 days a week. Meetings at all hours of the day. Your parent passed away? They will expect you to respond to emails. Having a child? Does the hospital have WiFi to jump on business meetings. They will demand you come into the office on weekends. * Unlimited vacation - You'll be lucky to take 1 week a year. And it's a major inconvenience to the Company if you need to take a random day off. * You'll have multiple meetings on the very same topic each day, issues don't get resolved. * No one believes in the numbers, everyone questions everyone's work, a lot of non-value added work. * Systems - You would expect systems to tie out and they do not. You'll never be able to get the right sales numbers or costing unless you make manual adjustments. * Took 3 weeks to have full system access in order for me to complete my job. There are multiple finance employees in my area looking to get out.

Pros

My boss was an amazing person but that's just how he was not the company.

Cons

Absolutely everything. Gosh I don't even know where to start. The buildings are all super dated. The chair I was provided with was over 20 years old. My desk - same story. Carpets - looked the same. No windows, couldn't see the sun light during the whole day. All cubicles. Super old cubicles. Everybody looks depressed in the campus, people rarely have a chat with each other. Zero culture. ZERO. Cafeteria serves over priced food, really? Benefits - horrible. Unlimited PTO but only if you can get it, needs to be approved. I was swamped with so much work I had to put a ton of over time. Health insurance was horrible. $6.5k deductible, really? Had to put up a fight to get a decent laptop. Took a whole week. I was asked to prove that I need a more powerful computer and not the general laptop they would give every employee. Really? Everything in the company screams "cheap" and "trying to save money". My department was heavily reliant on off shore developers. Those people were out of control with zero supervision from the on site team. Every time I asked to change things and implement latest standards I was shot down. Most of the higher up managers are close to retirement so they don't want any sort of innovation or change. Heck yeah I quit, what a toxic environment. Pretty much any company is better than Honey hell.
