Pros

I love working with the public and socializing. I also like to work with my hands and be creative, making people feel better about themselves.

Cons

the manager is a very rude demanding control freak that show her employees no respect at all, I have also been in the industry for 26 years and unfortunately have just had my 7th surgery on my feet. the different schedule every week causes some problems at times as well

Pros

Walk-in clientele. Repeat/request clientele. Fast paced. If you're in a good location and you're an efficient worker, you can make a lot in tips. Just cuts. No chemicals except for the rare perm. Shifts are not too long (in my location) so you don't feel like a work horse.

Cons

Can feel like an assembly line at times. Hourly pay stays pretty much the same no matter how long you're there. Not really a con for me, personally, but you need to be quick and good.
