Pros

-Better base pay than the average retailer -Uniforms are provided -Good employee discount

Cons

-Absolutely no room for vertical growth, no matter how great your reviews are -After 4 years, I didn't receive a single raise, despite good reviews -Poor communication from corporate and poorly trained management -Despite how hard the sales team worked, they never got any recognition, which made for very poor team morale. Management always chose to concentrate on the negative and spent very little time on the sales floor -Way to much emphasis on capturing emails and introducing people to the digital Burberry. Clients often felt pestered. Also, if a sales associate really tried to commit to the digital goals, their actual sales suffered and they were reprimanded by management -Corporate would visit periodically and never bothered to get feedback from the sales team, or learn how store operations work

Pros

50% discount for a limited time twice a year. Meeting interesting people sometimes. Seeing clothes of the new season before they are released to the public. Working in a luxury field.

Cons

Horrible experience while working there. Worked in a leadership position but was never treated with respect by anyone in my store or the nearby flagship. Everyone always talked about how long they've worked at their store and seniority means everything, whatever I said didn't mattered. Everyone except managers work on commission, and you are held accountable even though the country is going through a recession and no one wants to buy $400 scarfs. Sales associates troll around the store looking for customers and are total SHARKS, they will steal a sale from you and yell at you later for trying to take it from them. You have extremely low pay checks because of the low commission. Long hours of standing on your feet, shifts are 9am-6pm or 12pm-9pm.

Pros

-Amazing partnership from field managers and very hands on -Well-respected company in the fashion industry -iPad usage is pretty cool -Pay is above industry standard

Cons

-Inconsistent and immature sales associates -Worst quality product I've seen with constant customer issues and repairs -So obsessed with "digital luxury brand" mantra and adding customers to the Burberry "community" AKA signing people up for e-mails
