Pros

Good discount on products, they provide a good pension programme for employees and a good salary. You meet interesting customers everyday!

Cons

I find that there is a serve lack of communication with senior management in the company, I think this is due to an inefficient hierarchy where there are more managers then there are associates at some points. They often pass issues onto other managers and put the blame onto other people if things go wrong which is very confusing and unprofessional. They frequently create their own problems to entertain themselves and vent their anger onto staff. Management often mislead and lye to sales staff to benefit themselves. They don't appreciate hard work, honest good people but only take advantage of their good nature by giving them their workload or giving false hope on progression opportunities. I don't feel I can trust my management team because I get the impression that they don't know what they are doing half of the time. Company policies and protocol are not clearly communicated to the team. I think the training they provide is weak because its mostly online I think they need to have more face-to-face workshop type training and not rely on digital presentations on an iPad. I think that the company focuses too much on being 'digital' and not as much time as being a luxury goods company, the innovation and quality of their products aren't up to scratch to their piers such as Gucci and LV we often receive complaints from customers about damaged items. They are not very original with their ideas, they mostly copy other brands. I was very disappointed with my pay rise last year which was below inflation and the company reported a rise in profits of 14% for that year, I was't happy to learn that new employees are put on a higher salary then older team members that have to train and support the new starters, I think everyones salary should be more inline.

Pros

An extremely forward thinking company that really is the most digitally advanced retailer in the world. Evolves to its surroundings by constantly developing ways to make the business happen rather than waiting for business to appear just by creating what is fashion. Live runway shows presented on luxurious screens in real time. IPads strapped to well suited employees who know the detailed production of its fine produced pieces. Proving the excellence of its detail crafted and well fitted line of goods by knowing the product; then selling it from an IPad store to the clients front door.

Cons

Store management is unclear on what the priority should be while in charge. Many times the focus was blurred and could produce unneeded stress on its team. This could be a positive as well because while they were working on a project this gave the team freedom to produce profit for the company and themselves. Early execution of a plan before the product arrived kept the team busy. Many times this caused confusion on the task at hand, and produced a messy project on the sales floor. This could have been better executed while store doors were closed along with better time management. Being the most digitally advanced company provided many tools for the team to build off of. From detailed product knowledge, to handling a certain situation; Burberry covered every single aspect you could think of. The only problem is there are so many different interfaces to toggle between your eyes would be crossed while speaking to the client you are assisting. This will not be a problem because the company is constantly fine tuning all of its tools and it has passion for its team as much as it does for its clients. Burberry Chat connects everyone together, but could bring everyones laundry out to dry making it easy to forget the focus at hand. Every team in every district in every country was available on chat clogging up your wall. Your store's wall alone should necessarily only be one stores business unless the district had an important call out. Gloating and glorification was flooding the wall of congratulations and simple tasks of unknown members of teams that were outside the store. Simplify these interfaces and integration of these tools would calm the atmosphere. This would result in better communication for the task at hand.
