Pros

I was asked the standard questions about my feelings on fashion, what is luxury, and why do I want to work for burberry. Do your homework on the brand before showing up to the interview. The rest of the interview was a relaxed conversation. If you enjoy top notch fashion then you'll enjoy the company.

Cons

Pressure to bring in clients. When the brand already sales itself. Employee appreciation goes a long way. Keep an open mind with new ideas conveyed by your employees.

Pros

If you can somehow afford to buy anything with your discount, there's that. Short of being a store manager, or you have ZERO financial responsibility for anything in your life, you won't be able to use it. Career advancement is more than possible if you want to play the retail game of getting moved from store to store. It's a "Girl's Club" scenario, so if you're a female motivated to move up in the fashion retail world, you'll do great!

Cons

Zero work/life balance. You have to be *all* about retail, sales goals, and loving co-workers that are extremely petty and will steal your sales/clients at the drop of a hat. If you are single, happy making a paltry amount of commission on top of a low salary, and want to spend whatever free time you have out drinking and living a lifestyle you cannot afford with your fellow co-workers, God bless you. As the rest of the world cannot sustain that lifestyle, this job will burn you out. Aside from the manager and department managers vying to get the bump to assistant store manager, no one really said positive things about the store or company. Lunch was people complaining about work or talking about other opportunities. The only people with a quasi normal schedule are the department managers if they choose to give themselves days off they want. Since they want to keep their jobs, they drink the Burberry Kool-Aid every week. Very caustic environment, look for other high end fashion companies if you want to work in this part of retail.
