Pros

You will most likely receive a high salary. Maybe there are good managers and projects to work for, but it is a gamble. Proceed at your own risk.

Cons

There are many downsides to working here. Particularly in the DC area. I will provide a short list below. 1) Many of the managers that I worked with are incompetent. They know little about this subject matter, but somehow and someway, they are in position to manage. And by somehow and someway, I mean they most likely threw someone under the bus to get their position. It is a cut throat place. 2) If you are black, you will be placed on bad projects. The projects will be bad because the managers on the project will not have an idea of what to do with you. They will not establish clear expectations for the role, and, they likely will not have a clear plan for what you will do once placed on the project. You will waste a lot of time and energy spinning your wheels. IF you speak out about needing actual guidance to do your job, you will be punished by getting kicked off the project or marginalized. Many companies are this way; however, if you are a woman, and black, you will not be taken seriously. This place is bad. 3) Like I said above, your concerns will not be taken seriously. Management, HR, and, if the problem escalates high enough, ER (employee relations), will not do anything to solve the problem. YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED THE PROBLEM if you raise issues. All they will do is gaslight and provide lip service about how the workplace will be safe. Lip service about diversity, etc. etc. In the end, they do not handle conflict well, especially if the conflict involves race or gender. If you are willing to keep your head down and take it, you will advance. 4) If you are a finance professional, they will most likely place you in an area that has little to do with your actual expertise. They will use your resume to get projects, then give you an unrelated role. Likely something IT oriented. There are not many finance roles available. You will likely be asked to do some kind of change management job. 5) This company, like many, is used to taking advantage of young people straight out of college since they will not know any better. If you are an experienced professional, they will likely try the same tactics, then get upset if you do not fall for them. 6) For anyone who identifies as black, again, I believe you will receive substandard treatment when it comes to pay, promotions, quality projects, raises, etc. The diversity and best places to work initiatives are a complete joke. They do not take it seriously.

Pros

Great bonus program and 401K matching! Used to be a great place to work remote.

Cons

Jobs became very unstable where government contracts were less stable. Your job is based on a particular contract, which can end in 3 to 12 months. You do have a bit of time on the bench to seek out a new contract within the company. It is up to you to network and find a new project, or your position will end. Not the stability I was used to in the commercial space when I was a permanent employee of a company. You can make a lot of money, but keep in mind that your position could end at any point, every 3 months.

Pros

Good pay and good benefits

Cons

Prepare to have the life sucked out of you. This place will turn you into someone you won’t recognize. You are just a number, never forget that!
