I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at LA Fitness (Edmonton, AB) in Feb 2016
Interview
During the interview, they didn't ask me many question. They just told me how much I had the potential to make, how the schedule worked, what they wanted of you. They didn't seem to care whether people were qualified enough, just wanted to fill vacant positions. The interview was less questions, more just information about them.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at LA Fitness (Highland Village, TX) in Jun 2012
Interview
Two interviews.
One was a very basic one going over the job description and expectations. It's a time for you to ask questions. They'll ask the basics: your background in the field, why you want to work there, etc. Show up in slacks and a polo.
The second was a personal training session with the hiring manager. You take them through a 30 minute workout, then you'll sit down at the desk and they'll go over what you did well in the session and what you could have done better. Show up in workout attire.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LA Fitness (Los Angeles, CA) in Dec 2015
Interview
Fairly straight-forward, applied online and received a text, about a week later asking for an in-person interview. Met with VP of Regional hiring, who asked what aspects of the company I was interested in. Came in a second time to meet with Operations Manager who went over job specifics and offered me the job.
