Pros

I worked at Sensus as part of the design organization. The team I worked with was a very strong team with a good basis of knowledge and understanding of the products they worked on. As has been mentioned in other posts, being on the right team makes all the difference. There are teams that are much more supportive of each other than others.

Cons

Since the acquisition by Xylem, the organization has completely lost its direction both in product development and market strategy. The corporate position is clearly moving Sensus away from the core strategy that was implemented as an AMI company. Leadership of the design organization has been very fractured with no consistent direction from many of the management levels. There is no face time by the leadership and lackluster quarterly overviews that highlight all the great successes that no one actually get to share in. When working on various projects, there are unrealistic delivery schedules, lack of consistent inputs from the marketing organization, and a lot of finger pointing across the various functions of the organization. Prior to leaving the organization, there was a consistent pull back of many of the development teams so no one could be blamed for the program failures. Many of the new process steps implemented in the last year have impeded development team progress with many of my peers time being under-utilized.

Pros

Salary is decent but commission changed as soon as I started and drove many sales people to quit.

Cons

Fired nine days before Christmas because they needed more budget cuts after firing most of middle management in May. I’m a single dad and a graduate student and was coldly fired with no compassion by someone I’ve never even met. I had almost no training and zero support as a sales person which made the job nearly impossible. I left a company I was at for fifteen years for this opportunity only to be left fired a year later.

Pros

The only pros is the time flexibility, if you want to be settle in your life and if you have other priorities then this is the best place

Cons

I left the organisation within 20 days of my joining and there were few people planning to leave after 4-5 months of joining...there are very less good projects, they will hire you with false promises of working from scratch, new technologies and IoT but believe me no one knows about mqtt which is the basic protocol of IoT,all the good work is done from onsite and Bangalore centre is just for support...coming to IT and finance that's the worst I have seen ever the procurement is too slow and everything is controlled by Vadodara they don't trust people in Bangalore and people in Vadodara rely on manual work ...worst is the leave management which is done through some school kind of reporting system
