Pros

Nice facilities to use, some good colleagues. Decent training for PT's and good progression for them with best rates of pay i have seen.

Cons

Far to much work for one person. Company makes last min changes/additions to everything with little to no notice of training. No one knows how anything works. Unable to offer constructive feedback as it's just seen as negative and you get a black mark. if it's their idea, it's "Perfect"

Pros

Sometimes you may get employees you work with that you get along with, But most of the time it’s not the case. Other than that absolutely no pros about working here.

Cons

The whole place is a con. Management only care about themselves and expect those that actually do the work and are on minimum wage to go above and beyond. You’ll ask for help and get the bare minimum back. Ask them to challenge a customer and they’ve been found to lie about the outcome because they don’t want the drama. They think front line staff should feel privileged to work there when it’s the complete opposite. You’re overworked and underpaid. Heeley baths across the road will pay LG’s more for less work. VA make LG’s cover the pool, the gym and a lot of the time the cleanliness of the whole building because the cleaning team aren’t reliable. The staff turnover it’s incredible, mainly because they realise pretty quick what it’s like to work there and think I’m not having this and leave, management then are confused as to why so many staff are leaving and once they get told the reasons shock horror they don’t change how they do things. A job you need a qualification for and to keep that qualification up and you get paid the same amount as the cleaners and reception staff. Head office don’t care about club level staff as I tried to raise issues with them and got nothing back. They suspended me for doing my job and then when I actually had to save a child from drowning they completely ignored it and didn’t investigate it thoroughly like the previous time because god forbid they praise someone for good work. I left recently and I’ve never been more happy.

Pros

Good colleagues, flexible working hours.

Cons

People who are setting a new client target don't even care about PTs. They even tell us not to work outside Virgin Active. I don't know whether they are aware of this but most of the PTs bring clients outside or have another job so that they can live a life (Virgin Active take 1/3 of what we charge to the clients). Even the master trainers... Crazy that this well known company doesn't value PTs. The company is not taking any actions to make it better and people who are in the top don't even check how the situation like...
