Pros

The commission structure is good, if you can sell the product, and you enjoy being self employed. (Which is the reality of the sales position/security consultant))

Cons

Con is very apt. The job advert is misleading. There is no basic pay, no company car, no business phone, no expenses paid, no point of sale material, no business cards and no personal company email address. You may get them if you qualify?? You're effectively working self employed at your own expense and time to go out there and find business, convincing people to buy their monitored alarms systems, whether business or residential. you get told at training that your basic pay is actually a guaranteed top up. Lack of promised company warm leads. Teleclose will also steal your orders if you fail to close them on the day. If you fail to deliver 8+ installs a month you get dismissed. I was there for 10 weeks, worst company I have ever worked for in 30 years.

Pros

Earning opportunity is good if you have it in you.

Cons

To earn that money, you must give them your life. No social life, if you have a partner, break up with them now as it will not survive a year in this company. If you have a family, you will not see them and when you do you will be too tiered to actually be present. It is not basic salary with commision on top, it is commision only. If you walk away with basic (minimum wage) after putting in 70 hour weeks, it will feel like slave labour.

Pros

- Good benefits (healthcare, transport, food card)

Cons

Poor work/life balance. They will make you work overtime and will never recognise any of your efforts. Finance management team and Directors go away on expensive ‘team building activities’ abroad after making people redundant. The budget “reduction” seems to affect some and not others. Leaving employees questioning the fairness of those decisions specially as already being understaffed. They will steal your work, present it as their own, and will not give you credit for it. Lack of communication within your own department and very insecure individuals unwilling to share information or make it difficult to access it. Tight deadlines, all of them last minute and expect you to complete it on the day asked. They preach they are people who care about people but contradictory when making redundancies because of budget constraints, but then management team receives significant annual raises and get to go on expensive vacations paid by the company. Very toxic working culture and atmosphere around the office. Rules apply differently depending of who you are. Some promotions are questionable, and career advancement is limited. It often appears that significant progress requires staying in the same role for over five years, unless you have the right connections.
