Pros

UNICEF has a great mandate, they do fantastic work implementing programs that are actually impactful. Acquired good knowledge and understanding of how the UN works and a lot of useful skills related to the development programs.

Cons

Job insecurity, instability. No compensation, benefits for consultants (aka non-staff), who carry out the work of staff. Poor management. Highly hierarchical and bureaucratic institution.
