Pros

Trace Ones new innovative product could really be a game changer. Global Company working with offshore teams. If you want to do some travelling to the likes of France, USA, Romania (depending on your team) it's likely you can go with little persuasion. Company events - 2 years ago the whole company got taken to Meribel. One of my best holidays let alone company events. I have personally loved working here. Not only have I developed my skills and career but also myself as a person however.

Cons

Management can often be an issue but I believe this has been recognised and is being targeted. Personally the biggest con for me has always been communication between France and UK. As an example - decisions are often taken in France late at night without involving the global team which results in terrible consequences / frustration for all parties. I feel that I am closer to the 'outsourced' team in Romania then 'onshore' France.

Pros

Work/life balance, some friendly colleagues, decent amount of autonomy depending on which team you're on, little to no accountability

Cons

Incompetent leadership actively making decisions that hurt the business, an extremely outdated product and high customer churn. PE owned with little profit left to extract coupled with unrealistic goals based on minimal budget. Serious lack of HR support (especially in US) for everything from benefits to tax requirements, no real career path or advancement opportunities (even promotions come with less than 5% or no raise), obsession with hierarchy, painfully slow and inefficient internal processes, lots of dead weight because it's very difficult to fire people in Europe. This company is a joke. RUN don't walk away from them.

Lack of investment

Pros

Flexible working conditions, good colleagues. Work from anywhere in Europe in august.

Cons

Trace One is owned by a Private Equity company who definitely do not like to invest in the software. The only investment is paid by customers and is very reactive - there is no proactive innovation going on. Plus it is not possible to re-invest in both softwares because there arent enough people or money to do it. They have 2 types of PLM software and both have very old User Interfaces (looks like last updated in 2003) which makes it difficult to sell. Implementation times are at least a year and are very very expensive which also makes it hard to sell. Lots of internal politics and, no clear sales strategies and completely untrustworthy sales leadership. Little marketing support and there is a high staff turnover of product managers. The CEO is great but unfortunately some of his management team aren't. Some good sales people have been fired for poor reasons.
