Pros

Supplier Tuesday; Tesco suppliers visit HQ and you get freebies! Decent pension, Tesco Colleague Clubcard, voucher for a flu vaccine. The security team is well organised, and mostly left to get on with solving incidents. They have the tools, training and skills to get to the bottom of things. Excellent graduate placement training programme.

Cons

Quite a reactionary environment driven by cyber security news cycles. Big culture of secrecy, people won't share things with other teams. Quite a big bullying culture in some teams which thankfully I was never on the receiving end of. Forcing security people into the office for 3 days a week continues to exacerbate a recruitment crisis. Some teams have open positions for over a year, and higher turn over than ideal. Yearly "feet on the floor" - where operational security team members must go in and help stack shelves - takes your best trained security responders off their job when you probably need them most. A short sighted and terrible policy which has been enacted company-wide.
