Pros

Great team. Great people. Love Starbucks. They at making me write 20 words.

Cons

Horrible ETL's (The 2 good ETL's left). Fake people. No hours. Lies. Empty shelves. Complaints about leaders are ignored. Those who suck up get ahead. Hard work doesn't matter. No one can admit when they are wrong and leaders with no skills are promoted because managers like them.

Pros

10% employee discount on all items (includes Pharmacy), good title for a resume, ability to transfer to different stores/states.

Cons

Don't drink the Kool Aid. First, the ETL job may sound desirable with a starting pay of $48-50k, but keep in mind this comes with a minimum of 50 hours per week, typicality more, so the hourly wage is much smaller than it initially appears. You work hard for that $18 an hour. This place comes off with a family type feel, but Target does NOT have the employee's backs. Target is anti-union and is willing to fire any employee who simply questions the anti-union stance. They have tons of "reasons" for this stance, but the reality is they want to fire people at will for no reason regardless of seniority or how well they perform and a union would likely prevent such firings. Some of the firings I witnessed as a manager left me sick to my stomach. Other managers saw no issues with such decisions. The woman training me was obviously on a power trip and enjoyed it. What sickened me the most was that she was considered a star manager there and had zero regards for her employees. But this is how all of management appeared, very arrogant considering they work in RETAIL but have the attitude of millionaires on WallStreet. No flexibility on hours or days. Sometimes you work 6 days straight, sometimes days, sometimes nights. Makes it impossible to get on a regular sleep schedule and thus ruins your sense of work life balance. I literally cried on my way to work everyday. Anyone with a positive review of this place either has not been there long enough, has no other work options, or is drinking the kool aid and has no soul.

Pros

Good pay. Lots of opportunity since there are many low hanging fruit. You dont need to be a genius to make a real difference

Cons

Some of the most insecure people Ive worked with. Many are blundering incompetents especially at the Director level and above. Teams are constantly under delivering on commitments but leaders change the key success factors and declare victory. Culture is staggeringly inefficient and overly collaborative to the point of ineffectiveness. Too many meetings. Calendar stalking is normal. Forced fun is required for leaders....ie you need to do "fun" things with your team even though you may hate them. HR is always in your business, talking to your team and "getting feedback" which they may or may not use against you.
