Pros

Pay at DC Benefits average Some DC's good but not all 10% employee discount 401k is decent Pension

Cons

Personal/professional are not seperate Ordered to find people to fire for no reason Rules apply to some but not all Target policy is only good for some, others do not get the benefit of policy Hard work, good record with company means NOTHING Prepare to keep your job 2-3 years, anything longer is "borrowed time" they will be looking to get rid of you. Don't expect to retire from specific locations, you will lose your job before you can retire Unable to retain staff Hire young staff to "mold them" to what they want, yet if you have ideas you are shot down They only want people to say yes and never say anything else. -no questions. You can not use the "open door policy" or you will be terminated. Gl's come in with ideas Target says no. You are just a number to them. When you reach a specific age you will be on the road way to exit. Improper Terminations. does not promote from within. You can have a degree in oceanography and be qualified to lead a maintenance staff (knowing nothing about the department). However if you have 20 years experience you will be treated as the trash on the floor. CEO doesn't care and forwards all concerns to the customer service department. You will be pushed to your breaking point at one specific DC and it is the place you work to get fired or be forced out. Just when you think your job is safe, your gone.

Pros

You have to work long hours starting out in the company. Also you don't get promoted for around 2 years because they have too many employees in the same job position. The job is very stressful and cut throat. Many people cry every week at this job because it is so horrible. Also if you don't change who you are to the company's standards they will kick you out of the company.

Cons

Great culture, pay, and benefits. The location of having the headquarters downtown is very convenient.

Pros

When I began with Target in 2003, their pharmacy program was the best available. They were the first large company to put medication descriptions on the label - now law in many states. The bottle redesign was forward thinking and the culture was patient focused. Staffing and support was the best of any position I looked at. I believe that they can rediscover that excellence as I still see the store level pharmacists as being patient centered and caring.

Cons

Pharmacy is no longer independent of Store Management. Current pharmacists have no say in hiring for open pharmacist positions. The promise of a new computer system has been made and retracted several times as Target insisted it be an internal propriety development. This has left them far behind in technology and I believe that it has lead to safety issues.
