Pros

Great for a new college grad and decent pay Most peers are great to work with Good leadership development Decent training program

Cons

No work life balance, expect to work 60+ hours and 6 days a week. You will be called/texted on your one off day and on your weekends. I would wake up each morning to be at work at 7am and would leave around 6 or 7pm each day if I was on a day shift. If working a closing shift expect to work 2pm-midnight and have to be in the next day at 7am. As an HR one would think I was in an office working on what requires the store to remain compliant, but because I had a demanding manager I was required to spend most of my time on the salesfloor folding clothes and assisting guests. Expect to be given very critical feedback from your peers and manager on a constant basis. Because you are exhausted and over worked it becomes hard to spruce up the traditional red and khaki that even managers are required to wear. My manager told me on my birthday that I needed to look happier and dress better, after I worked a 17 hour overnight shift.

Pros

Money is good for a retail job. When you start out as an Executive you are treated like a golden child.

Cons

No metrics for individual accountablilty. It's their favorite word, "accountable", but it's all perception by a higher up corporate suit. You are forced to play the game, be happy, have no opinion unless they thought of it first. There is a 20/40/60 rule among Exec's. 20 years of service, over 40 years of age and making over 60k and it's goodbye to you by any means they can conjure up.

Pros

Good discount, accrue vacation quickly, will work with school schedules, can do direct deposit, not much more to say on this

Cons

No inter-communication among managers, no realistic goals set for work to time allotted ratio. It seems like work is piled on strategic people, and then most others just walk around and talk, if you are not a pet, then you are overlooked, if you have any seniority they look for ways to get rid of you. once you cap, there is no cost of living wage increase. Everytime minimum wage goes up, they do not offset the difference for loyal employees. You do not get your breaks because they run skeleton crews. The health insurance is just awful. It is not realistic to expect your employees to be highly motivated when you do not know their names, you continuously cut the hours and they are struggling to make ends meet. Your year end bonus does not feed my children.
